The windows that face the East and West interior courtyards at Vestal school are in disrepair and need to be replaced.Under this bid request and subsequent contract, the contractor will abate, remove, and dispose of the existing windows identified in the bid documents. All abatement work will be under the management of PPS and Kelsay Environmental.The contractor will scrape, patch, and paint the interior walls (corner to corner), window sills, ceilings and window jambs per the bid documents. The paint color to be used will either match existing colors or be called out as PPS standard paint colors depending on the room and current color conditions of the space. The PPS Project Manager and contractor will examine and decide on paint colors once a contract is in place.The contractor will replace the existing windows and sills with new windows and sills as per the bid documents. This work includes, but is not limited to, flashing, weatherization, caulking, and overall weatherproofing.The contractor will be responsible for continuous site and building cleaning, securing building openings to prevent intrusion and weather, and coordination with custodial activities.As part of this scope of work the contractor will, as needed, photo document existing furniture in the classrooms and temporarily relocate the materials to perform the work. The existing conditions photos will be provided to the PPS Project Manager for reference. Once the work is complete, the contractor will be responsible to put the furniture and other school material back in the same location as per the existing conditions photos. The PPS Project Manager will approve the replacement of these items as part of the punchlist walk.
